Java Engineer (Mid-Level), Initial 6 Month Contract, Dublin (Hybrid)
My client in Dublin city centre needs an experienced Java engineer for an initial six-month contract. You’ll build and evolve Spring Boot microservices that support core business platforms. You’ll work closely with engineers, analysts and operations colleagues, and you’ll help the team raise its engineering standards.
Strong rate available, 2 days per week onsite, 3 days remote working.
What you’ll be doing
  • Designing, building and maintaining Java microservices and reusable components in Spring Boot
  • Turning business requirements into clean, scalable and well-tested solutions, working with analysts and operations
  • Following and championing the team’s coding standards, architecture guidance and source control practices
  • Managing your work through Azure DevOps within an agile delivery model
  • Mentoring less experienced engineers through code reviews, pairing and knowledge sharing
  • Looking for ways to improve code quality and the team’s delivery
What you’ll bring
  • 6+ years of commercial Java development
  • Strong, hands-on Spring Boot and microservices experience
  • A solid grasp of agile delivery and day-to-day use of Azure DevOps
  • High standards for clean code and version control
  • Clear communication and the confidence to guide junior team members
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
